The lovely and wise fragrance editor of BeautyNewsNYC.com introduced me to San Francisco- based perfumer Ineke just last week. After sniffing her bottle of After My Own Heart, a delicate blend of lilac, heliotrope, sandalwood and musk, I knew that THIS was a line I needed to learn more about. The next morning, I immediately ordered Ineke's Deluxe Sample Collection, which includes 4 sample vials (packaged just beautifully) for $12 (redeemable on a full bottle purchase.)
I received the sample set just a few days later and have since tested After My Own Heart again along with Balmy Days and Sundays, a gorgeous clean floral with notes of freesia, honeysuckle, grass and musk. I have a definite "type" when it comes to perfumes - I love notes of rose, gardenia, orchid, lilac and also clean, skin scents and these two Ineke creations are right up my alley. Full bottles, here I come!

To wrap up New York Fashion Week for Fall 2008, we stopped by the eBay Fashion Week suite to get the word on the week from Constance White (video will be up soon...stay tuned). "There was a lot of color on the runways, as well as bold prints," notes Constance. "Also, waists are still defined, but with a much skinnier belt." I was talking to Daniel today, and I asked him a most pertinent question: "Do you think that people our age wearing mittens might just look a little insane?". His reply, "Of course not". He might have just been humouring me but the challenge was set before me; find a pair of mittens that I could wear (when winter comes not now, cause that would just be insane). We have seen this uncomplicated, tell it like it is mentality popping
up all over the place, especially as banks try to re-align themselves
with their customers. It is now nice and refreshing to see this

The French men’s fashion scene is unconquered territory. When Hedi was with DH he was close to getting crowned the king until he and DH decided to part ways, leaving Napoleons throne unattended.
Lanvin is slowly winning the people’s heart and with their latest collection they have made me fall to my knees bowing in the presence of greatness. Their fashion shows and collections might not be as theatrical as Kris Van Asche’s latest work for DH, but what they have created this time has been executed with top level articulation and confidence. If they had to redo this AW08 collection I don’t think that they would have done it in a different way. Unlike a few other brands Lanvin design with in style that expresses their assurance over their identity and principles.
Never before has funeral wear looked so sparkling. Saying that the entire colour spectrum has been covered would be a lie, but despite the primary usage of black there is no lack in personality here. Every outfit shines with a polar star on it and overall Lanvin is doing a good job strengthening their brand image.

Preppy is cute, and is like the universe, we don’t know what’s beyond it. Thanks to Prada we no longer have to wonder because they have now introduced feminine attire for men. Besides looking Fergalicious in a mini skirt we men can finally have something in the wardrobe that our girlfriends or sisters will desperately want to borrow. Felicia would make a wonderful middle name for a man dressed in a skirt. If you get teased or laughed at by ignorant people who justifiably assume that your short skirt was acquired in Marks & Spencer’s women department, a good advice is to keep a Prada FW08 look book in your pocket or purse as defense.
Those who still feel like defying the rules of masculinity Prada didn’t hold back and have a little group of tops to go with the shirt. Shy people will be happy to know that there are skin-colored body stockings to cover the upper body with. As icing of the cake Prada has designed a mysterious thing you wear around to waist which gives the impression that you’re exposing your panties.

Traditionally, more suited to Xerxes or muzza chest hair, gold is rarely associated with any self-respecting Melbournian heteropolitan. The colour first appeared as the it boot at Dior Hommes Everybody just looks the same Fall/Winter collection. Next it was Louis Vuitton, then Guccis overdose with Guccissima, Comme des Garcons, Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons MAN, Supra sneakers and then of course, Converse.
Try wearing thin leather gold sneakers with your basic white dress shirt, black tie and black/indigo skinny jeans, or maybe even with a white tee with a simple print (i.e. NOT Ed Hardy) for a more Indie rock star feel. Alternatively try tucking in worn skinny/straight jeans into some gold hi-tops with your favourite limited edition street wear t-shirt.
